Dr Ibraheem Almansouri is Director of Engineering at Masdar, one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy companies. In his role, he oversees all technical support for Business Development and Investment, Bidding, Project Delivery, Portfolio Management, and Special Projects & Distributed Generation. Prior to his current position, he was a senior member of the bidding team in Clean Energy’s Business Development team and was responsible for various projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Dr Almansouri has extensive knowledge in academia and research, which includes a wide range of strategic and commercial exposure, and practical experience.

Dr Almansouri is the recipient of several regional and global awards, including the Emirates Energy Award (2014-2015 cycle) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Myron Zucker Industry Applications Award (2008). He is an active member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academy of Scientists.

Dr Almansouri holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD, a PhD in Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering from Australia’s University of New South Wales, a MSc in Renewable Energy Management from the University of Freiburg in Germany, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the American University of Sharjah.

He completed his master thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE and his PhD under the Masdar Research Network initiative.
